CREATIVE PRODUCER

1992 • Babel Fish

I returned to Brighton for 3 years in 1991 and in 1992. I was commissioned by Aat Hougee and the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) to create an “art rave” called Babel Fish. It was sponsored by ID Magazine and DP Fashion. The collaboration included: dancers from Aat’s School for New Dance Development (SNDO), an experimental dance college in Arnhem; DJ Chris Coco; sculptor Duncan Whiteman; dancers from Brighton Polytechnic, including Marisa Carnesky; choreographer Ginny Farman and experimental film maker Adrienne Altenhaus. Babel Fish took place at the Zap Club in Brighton, Rocket Club in London, the dance club Night Town in Rotterdam and in Willem 2, a disused theatre in Arnhem. It was ground breaking and totally bonkers.

“a celebration of sexual gratification and expression-free from guilt” reply “we see that sort of thing on holiday photos everyday”
