1997 • Pure Glasgow

1997’s Pure Glasgow – Celebration of the centenary of the STUC was a massive event that included parades, concerts and the mischievous art work (and hoax) to “paint the Clyde red”. On the morning of the event, I was called at 5am with the news that Princess Diana had died in a car crash. So began a debate as to whether to cancel. In the end, it was controversially postponed to be re-scheduled the following month.
